My initial reaction to the culture shock brought new challenges as I toggled between school, adolescence, church and the streets. My undying love for Hip Hop brought unavoidable persecutions and conflicts with guardians who squandered monthly stipends sent by my parents for my care and that of my siblings.
Ultimately cast into the streets, I learned to hustle. I found solace in reggae playing ghettos. There my involvement with music drew lifelong friendships. They nurtured me in the most unexpected places. One day, my parents, living in New Jersey, USA made a radical intervention. That spared me from the wrath of the latter vendetta of the genocidal civil war.
