You’re trying to come up in life, earn outside the establishment, and secure a sound financial status. You want to beat the system so you can get ahead. You’re a misunderstood Black man because you do not follow anybody anywhere. You do your own thing. Guess what’s your biggest problem right now? I’d bet you never guessed it. We do have other issues. If you were born with nothing and are expected never to become anything more than another statistic, you have more problems than the President of America. But there’s something that’s a thousand times worse. That thing is terrorism. Many Black men run with the Nation of Islam, The Five Percenters, or traditional Islam, so it’s not the Muslim religion.
It’s not even Islamic fanaticism that’s the issue. It’s terror. That’s the biggest challenge for a Black man right now! The moment of truth has arrived. A true man of integrity is unwavering and fearless in the face of adversity. His life revolves around profound connections – to women, family, nation, culture, prosperity, and the vibrant tapestry of life itself. He confronts any obstacle that dares impede his progress. History bears witness to the systemic oppression inflicted by powerful institutions upon countless marginalized groups – from Black communities to Indigenous peoples, from Asian populations to Latino communities, and countless others. Collaboration with such entities is not an option.
These institutions have historically plundered resources and exploited populations across the globe. The dispossession of Aboriginal lands, celebrated with the perverse irony of Thanksgiving feasts, serves as a stark example. The enslavement of Africans, the subjugation of South Americans, and the manipulation of religious and cultural sensitivities in the Middle East all demonstrate a pattern of ruthless dominance. A mere glance at current events reveals the ongoing absurdity of global injustices. Yet, amidst this chaos, specific threats loom more prominent – terrorists, for instance, present an immediate and grave danger. That’s because they can injure or kill you, as if your life is nothing or meaningless.
The mundane realities of life are fraught with peril. The specter of racial bias, a ubiquitous threat regardless of origin, casts a long shadow. For many, securing gainful employment, let alone maintaining it, proves an insurmountable challenge. The dream of owning a vehicle and enjoying its freedom is often elusive. Society replaces it with anxieties about prejudice. Building a stable family life as a cornerstone of societal well-being. That becomes precarious, constantly vulnerable to unforeseen disruptions and accusations. These are merely the commonplace hardships Black men continuously navigate. This struggle is compounded when considering the plight of people from marginalized communities, facing ostracism and societal rejection for daring to transcend prescribed boundaries. From this crucible of adversity, five critical reasons emerge, illuminating the devastating impact of terrorism on our shared existence.
5. Any Plane or Whatever – These malicious felines revel in death and destruction. They’ll ignite a conflagration, engulfing you in its inferno, and then gloat over their pyrrhic victory against authority. Your innocence is irrelevant. Their animosity is indiscriminate. It could be your mother, airborne and en route to a long-awaited holiday, her life’s savings invested in that fleeting escape. It could be your child, absorbed in the simple joys of school. Your loved one sharing laughter with friends, or even you, the ostensibly untouchable, en route to the solace of home—and then, *catastrophe*. Everything vanishes. This is an unmitigated disaster, a calamity surpassing even the horrors of Ebola or a pandemic.
4. Travel Alert – Disregard the facile notion of reciprocal visa exemptions for global commerce and leisure. Consider instead the crushing weight of bureaucratic hurdles. Imagine yourself mired in the abject squalor of a developing-world slum, utterly isolated. A lifeline appears: a dubious offer, affordable only because it’s inherently risky. A forged visa, easily detected by even cursory scrutiny, offers a desperate gamble—a chance at a better life. Perhaps you’re driven by the agonizing need for economic opportunity, seeking a market for your unsaleable wares. Or maybe love, a cross-cultural romance, pulls you towards a land where your partner eagerly awaits. There can be many reasons why you travel.
Your escape is predicated on clandestine entry, a perilous journey. You are forced to operate on the fringes, relying on luck and cunning. Do you grasp the desperation? The specter of global terrorism casts a long shadow, rendering even legitimate travel an endless minefield of suspicion. This reality disproportionately impacts marginalized communities, a cruel irony in a world that should strive for equity. The current climate of heightened security, fueled by extremist threats, has created an insurmountable obstacle for those seeking a better future. Who understands this struggle? The formerly seamless process of international movement has been irrevocably altered, creating untold hardship for Black men.
3. Money – The lifeblood of many marginalized men is our money. It dictates their existence. While a stable job and comfortable retirement are desirable, the realities of systemic prejudice often preclude such aspirations. Yet, we crave success: a home, a stylish vehicle, fine apparel, and luxury accessories. We cultivate passions – music, comedy, athletic pursuits – and revel in generosity, sharing our bounty with others. Some indulge in costly habits, others in lavish entertainment. Children, too, represent a significant financial responsibility, demanding resources for their well-being and development. Black men invest heavily in their children’s futures. The goal is to break generational limitations.
This is the same individual often denied opportunities due to harmful stereotypes and pervasive discrimination. The relentless pressure to provide necessitates resourceful, frequently unconventional means of income. The global security landscape, further complicated by the actions of groups like ISIS, introduces new obstacles. The previously uncomplicated movement of funds is now fraught with risk, adding complexity and frustration to our already challenging circumstances. Our entrepreneurial spirit is stifled by a world that judges and neglects us. These selfish extremist groups cause more restrictions, oversight, and scrutiny. The terrorists raise alarms and put the authorities on a heightened alert.
2. Bastardization of Islam – Terrorists have grotesquely distorted the image of Islam, cynically twisting Quranic verses to legitimize their horrific actions. This perversion, however, clashes starkly with the principle of religious liberty, a cornerstone of modern society. While people are free to explore any spiritual path—from Wicca and Satanism to atheism—terrorist’s brutal imposition of their warped ideology has cast a long shadow, unjustly tarnishing their faith and its adherents. The consequence is a pervasive atmosphere of suspicion. Innocent civilians fleeing the ravaged lands of Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Afghanistan—refugees desperately seeking sanctuary—are viewed with distrust.
Governments, wary of the potential for infiltration, openly resist their resettlement. This vulnerability is further exploited by terrorist organizations that utilize these desperate people as camouflage, facilitating their insidious infiltration into unsuspecting nations to unleash further carnage. This grim reality highlights a disturbing double standard. While people from Muslim-majority nations like Jordan, Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, and others face considerably less scrutiny, the broad brush of prejudice paints all those of Middle Eastern descent with the same condemnatory strokes. This unjust and deeply damaging bias is utterly reprehensible. Who can they blame for such a demise? Terrorists!
1. Blow Themselves Up in Public – Let’s be direct. Truly ambitious people often hope to flourish in high-pressure environments, their skills diverse and unique. Their inherent talents—artistry, intellect, or charisma—inevitably draw crowds of admirers eager to witness their brilliance. Can anything be more horrific than a terrorist infiltrating such a gathering and detonating a suicide bomb? The carnage is unimaginable: a shattered venue, an indefinitely postponed event, and the senseless slaughter of hundreds of innocent spectators. Even after navigating perilous journeys and achieving success, the shadow of extremism looms. The threat of radical violence—a sudden, brutal end—remains a stark reality. Terrorists are narcissistic! It is incumbent upon us all—upon every person of exceptional ability—to heighten our vigilance and prevent such catastrophic events. We must ensure that no one else suffers such a senseless fate.
